University Town Centre

The recently expanded WVU Medicine University Town Centre houses multiple practices including dermatology, OB/GYN, outpatient rehabilitation, and primary care. Five pharmacists practice within the primary care departments. The resident will spend the majority of their time at this site within the family medicine practice and may complete an elective with the internal medicine team. The family medicine practice is also a training site for 18 family medicine residents and houses over 20 attending physicians, 3 clinical psychologists, 4 advanced practice providers, a social worker, and a registered dietitian. This NCQA-tier 3 patient centered medical home is the largest family medicine practice in West Virginia and has two smaller locations in Morgantown as well as a partnership with Sundale Nursing Home. Pharmacists here are integral to multidisciplinary specialty clinics, pharmacist-run clinics, home-based primary care, geriatrics clinics, and quality improvement efforts. In addition, the clinic is adjacent to the Monongalia County Ballpark, so you can watch the Black Bears or Mountaineers at batting practice during lunch!

Health Sciences Center

The HSC Pylons located in the Health Science Center common area.

Known as the HSC, this site supports students from five different schools - pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, public health, and medicine. All of these schools provide training from world class practitioners and researchers to equip learners with the tools to serve their communities. As part of their year, the resident will serve as facilitator for an interprofessional education series that reaches over 700 students in the HSC each year. The School of Pharmacy has about 60 students per cohort, 6 pharmacy residents, and is also home to the State poison center, drug information center, and continuing education center. The resident with teach students in traditional lecture halls as well as a state-of-art skills development center and simulation lab.

Ruby Memorial Hospital

The largest hospital within WVU Medicine, Ruby is consistently ranked as the number 1 hospital in West Virginia. In addition to providing over 800 inpatient beds, this site offers multiple outpatient clinics within its physician office center. The resident may practice here for their internal medicine, neurology, or advanced heart failure electives. This hospital is also home to 11 different pharmacy residency programs.
