Long-time SoP Professors Retire, Earn Emeritus Status

In addition to its 110th Anniversary, the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy recognizes another significant event this spring.

Five esteemed professors are retiring or have already retired, each earning the honorable title of Emeritus.

These dedicated educators, who have collectively devoted 133 years of service to the institution, leave a legacy of excellence and commitment. One by one they have shaped countless careers and advanced the pharmacy field, making an indelible impact on students and colleagues. As they embark on their new chapters, the School celebrates their remarkable achievements and honors their enduring influence on the academic landscape.

"The retirement of these five beloved faculties, who have collectively dedicated 133 years to our institution, is a bittersweet moment for us all," said Dr. William Petros, Gates Wigner Dean of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. “Their legacy will continue to inspire future generations of student pharmacists."
