Dean's Message
Greetings,
I am thrilled to announce the launch of our online magazine “Showglobe Digital.” We still intend to intermittently publish printed, full-length versions of the Showglobe, however, this dynamic form of media enables us to engage with you in real time, offering fresh, relevant content on a more frequent and consistent basis. Your feedback is essential to us, and we invite you to share your preferences on how you would like to receive future Showglobes: online or in print.
June held significant milestones for our School. On the first, we celebrated 110 years of pharmacy education at WVU with a dinner, hall of fame induction ceremony and all-years reunion. This anniversary is a testament to our enduring legacy and commitment to excellence. The theme of our celebration, "Honoring the Past, Building the Future," perfectly encapsulates our vision. We inducted 27 new members into the School’s Hall of Fame and acknowledged five esteemed faculty members who have been granted emeritus status by the University. These faculty members are retiring this summer after a combined 134 years of dedicated service.
The WVU School of Pharmacy continues to be a hub of innovation and excellence in pharmaceutical education and research. Our faculty and students are frequently recognized by national organizations for their outreach efforts and groundbreaking research. Notably, we are proud to be ranked in the top third of pharmacy schools nationwide in terms of externally funded research and contracts, in addition to the recent US News rankings.
We are excited about the possibilities that our new online magazine will bring, and we look forward to your thoughts and preferences. Let us know how we can best serve you in this new venture.
Warm regards,
Dean William Petros
