Why WVU Medicine: I chose WVU Medicine to complete my PGY2 Infectious Disease residency for various reasons, including the strong connection I felt with the preceptors and RPD, who were genuinely supportive and invested in the resident's success. The program offers unique opportunities that support individual interests, such as my research project, and promotes teaching at both the college and hospital levels, which aligns with my passion for academia. The elective rotation to Africa, an exceptional opportunity, offers a rare chance to experience uncommon infectious disease cases and practice in a resource-limited setting, requiring adaptability and critical thinking. Overall, I am excited to complete my training at WVU Medicine and dedicate myself to improving patient care within the community.
