The Research Induction Ceremony which has PhD and MD/PhD students participating this year from the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, and School of Pharmacy, will take place on Friday, March 4 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Okey Patteson Auditorium. The guest speaker is Dr. John Blosnich, an alumnus of the School of Public Health.

This ceremony marks an important step in the lives of the doctoral students who have completed their core educational course work, identified their mentors, and are now entering their selected areas of graduate research. The laboratory coat presented at this ceremony symbolizes the entry of these young scientists into the process of research and discovery. It also serves to recognize the bonding of mentor and student in a mutually supportive interaction that is key to successful training for a career in research.
