Dr. Abbi Blevins

 

Dr. Abbi Blevins, (PharmD, ’16) alumna and clinical pharmacy specialist at WVU Medicine WVU Hospitals (WVUH) Specialty Pharmacy and Home Infusion, was recognized for her professional contributions at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) conference, held June 7–11 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

According to The Wright Stuff, WVU Medicine’s daily e-newsletter, Blevins was appointed director-at-large of the ASHP Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners and named to its Section Executive Committee. The committee provides leadership and guidance to ASHP, helping address the practice needs of its members and shaping strategies for patient care and medication management in the specialty pharmacy field.

In addition to her leadership appointment, Blevins presented a research project titled “Evaluation of Pharmacist-driven Interventions for Patients with Inflammatory Conditions at a Health-system Pharmacy.” The project was co-authored by Dr. Morgan Petitte, PharmD (PharmD, ’18) ) of the WVUH Pharmacy Department.
