West Virginia University School of Medicine Health Professions programs appear in the latest rankings of graduate programs by U.S. News & World Report, making them the top-ranked programs of their kind in West Virginia.
The Best Graduate Schools list was released on April 8.
Ranked programs include:
- Audiology 66 (tie)
- Occupational Therapy 79 (tie)
- Physical Therapy 65 (tie)
- Physician Assistant Studies 159 (tie)
- Speech-Language Pathology 105 (tie)
“These rankings showcase our commitment to excellence in health education,” Mary Beth Mandich, vice dean for Health Professions, said. “We are dedicated to preparing the next generation of healthcare leaders to make a lasting impact on the communities they serve.”
Health Professions at WVU includes a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs offered within the School of Medicine. Students study at the WVU Health Sciences Campus in Morgantown, which is part of WVU's academic medical center, J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
As the only comprehensive academic medical center in West Virginia, the Health Sciences Campus enables Health Professions students to gain hands-on experience in hospitals, clinics, and R1 research labs.
U.S. News & World Report ranks graduate programs based on expert opinion about program excellence as well as statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research, students and post-graduate outcomes.
