The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute will host a stroke conference on May 30, 2025 in the Fukushima Auditorium, Room 190l, of WVU Health Sciences Center North.
This conference is designed for physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers specializing in neurology, emergency medicine, critical care, stroke care, and rehabilitation. It will also benefit healthcare professionals involved in acute stroke management, telestroke programs, and post-stroke recovery.
Following this conference, participants should be able to:
- Identify key practice gaps in current neuroscience care and formulate strategies to address them
- Implement advanced diagnostic techniques to improve the accuracy of neurological assessments
- Integrate the latest evidence-based treatments into clinical practice
- Discuss the use of paired VNS with rehabilitation to improve upper extremity functional outcomes in patients following ischemic stroke
- Discuss the use of VNS for the treatment of other diseases and disorders
- Recognize the role of AI in acute ischemic stroke
- Recognize the critical role of frontline nursing in stroke care, from rapid emergency response and STAT interventions to acute stroke management, ensuring seamless patient transitions and improved outcomes
- Describe challenges in managing complex stroke patients in different clinical settings
- Describe updates in the management of intracerebral hemorrhage
- Explain the role of tele-stroke in expanding acute stroke treatment access and utilization
- Implement strategies to improve door-in-door-out time in transfers
This conference is designed for physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers specializing in neurology, emergency medicine, critical care, stroke care, and rehabilitation. It will also benefit healthcare professionals involved in acute stroke management, telestroke programs, and post-stroke recovery. In-person fees for physicians are $65, non-physicians are $35 and all virtual participats are to pay $35 in dues.
