WVU students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a four-part mindfulness series starting May 16 and continuing monthly through August. Participants can expect to learn the positive effects of meditation on the mind and body.

All sessions will take place virtually on one Thursday each month from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

  • Mindfulness and Habits (May 16) – In this workshop, the Mindful Steps team will introduce ways to navigate your habitual nature with more mindfulness and compassion.
  • Mindfulness is AWEsome (June 6) - Gather with the Mindful Steps team to learn more about the growing research devoted to the natural emotion of awe and explore practical ways to sense into the feeling states of awe, joy and wonderment.
  • Welcoming Grief (July 18) – In this Mindful Steps class, you will learn about the importance of acknowledging and validating heavy emotions, practical tools for alleviating psychosomatic tension, and compassion exercises to cultivate emotional resiliency.
  • Retaining our Humanity in Challenging Times (Aug 15) – Join the Mindful Steps team for an inspiring session that may aid in keeping a kind, but strong heart in an ever-changing world.

Employees of WVU Medicine and WVU students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend the series free of charge.
