Dr. Sally Hodder, WVCTSI director, associate vice president for clinical and translational science and Preeminent Scholar Chair at West Virginia University Health Sciences, has received notification of continued funding for the research project “The IDeA State Consortium for a Clinical Research Resource Center Increasing Clinical Trials in IDeA States through Communication of Opportunities Effective Marketing and Workforce Development.”
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences, a part of the National Institutes of Health, awarded $2,768,492 for the 2027 fiscal year, which represents year four of the five-year grant totaling $13,347,989.
The grant supports the IDeA State Consortium for Clinical Research Resource Center which expands clinical research in IDeA states by connecting trial sponsors with research institutions, increasing awareness of clinical trial opportunities, and training skilled clinical research coordinators. The program will create greater access to clinical trials for states with historically lower participation, including rural areas, and build the workforce needed to advance clinical research.

ISCORE-RC is funded by a grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (U24GM150446) to serve as a catalyst to increase the number of clinical studies in IDeA states.
