The joint degree program between the WVU School of Pharmacy and the WVU College of Business and Economics provides outstanding career opportunities for graduates by building expertise in business administration principles and managerial practices coupled with therapeutic knowledge and expertise in medication management.
The goal of the dual degree program is to prepare the next generation of leaders, managers, and administrators for rewarding careers in health care or pharmaceutical organizations. Opportunities for the joint degree graduates include leadership positions in hospitals and health systems, pharmacy benefit management companies, government organizations, the pharmaceutical industry, chain pharmacy corporations, and owning, franchising, or operating an independent pharmacy.
Through a well-coordinated plan of study in both degree programs, the dual Pharm.D./M.B.A. degree students will be able to obtain two nationally-accredited graduate degrees—M.B.A. and Pharm.D. degrees — during the course of the 4-year Pharm.D. program.
