The Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences was launched in 2004 after reorganization of the biomedical Ph.D. programs at the WVU health sciences center. The program has two pathways: Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences (PPS) and Health Outcomes (HO).
Prior to 2004, the WVU School of Pharmacy was the administrative home for the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences was based in one of two departments: Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences (BPS) or Pharmaceutical Systems and Policy (PSP).
