Awards for Accomplishment

The WVU School of Pharmacy recognizes outstanding graduate students every year during the annual School awards ceremony.  The purpose of these awards is to recognize excellence in research and overall achievement.  A total of three awards, each carrying a citation and $250, is awarded.

Two Research Awards are made: one to a student in Health Services and Outcomes Research PhD program and the other one to a student in the Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences PhD program.  The primary criterion for the research awards is research productivity during the previous 18 months.  The third award is for outstanding achievement to recognize a student whose impact extends beyond the boundaries of the graduate program.

To be considered for the awards, nominators (or students) must submit:

Students may apply for both awards, but a given student can only receive one award.  The deadline for applications is normally announced in March and completed forms are submitted electronically.

All applications will be reviewed by the School’s Awards Committee.  Awardees are recognized at the School of Pharmacy’s annual award convocation in April every year.
