The West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Health Education Center was developed in 2008 with the primary mission of integrating wellness education and disease prevention activities into the Pharm.D. program. The Health Education Center is housed in the Mylan Center for Pharmaceutical Care Education. It serves as a learning lab and also extends its reach to provide direct patient care activities in the community. Curricular activities and patient care services familiarize Pharm.D. students with the role of the pharmacist in patient wellness and prepare them for clinical opportunities available in practice.

The Health Education Center focuses on patient education and is a CLIA waived laboratory equipped to provide patient care related to hyperlipidemia, diabetes, hypertension, bone density, and body composition.
