Two WVU researchers have been named to the leadership of BioWV, the Bioscience Association of West Virginia, a nonprofit organization that promotes the state’s growing bioscience business community.
Rich Giersch, WVU’s director of health sciences innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization was elected chair of the BioWV’s board. Allie Karshenas, associate vice president of clinical operations & institutional advancement at the Health Sciences Center also joined the board as a member. Both were elected to serve three-year terms.
The board also includes representatives of bioscience businesses, other universities and organizations across the state.
BioWV will participate in the BIO International Convention in San Francisco June 6-9. Representatives from WVU and CereDx, a startup company housed in WVU’s new Health Sciences Innovation Center, will be participating.
